Please pray for Mike Cooke, one of our parishioners, who is having further open heart surgery on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Royal Columbian Hospital. This is being done to repair the leak in the original graft in his aorta after the 2016 aneurysm.
A prayer chain refers to a group of people who pray for the common intention (e.g. for needs of others). It arises when a number of people agree and commit to pray and/or fast for the common intention or for the needs of someone in need. They are connected in prayer and fasting like the links of a chain for the duration of the prayer chain.
Any situations that cause sadness, anxiety and distress:
- For those bereaved
- Accident victims
- Those preparing for, or recovering from surgery or illness
- Those going through stressful times in their lives
- Any who are fearful
- The terminally ill
- Those with family worries
- ... and others too
Normally, but not in every circumstance, those being prayed for specifically in a Prayer Chain should know about any request made on their behalf and be in agreement with it going forward.
|Matthew 18:20 NAB||For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.|
|Luke 1:37||For nothing will be impossible to God.|
|Philippians 4:6-7||Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.|
